Alimentias is a Spanish company that was founded in 1999 and belongs to a long family tradition in the food business.

It all started in 1881, in the town of Villalón, located in the center of Castilla; Villalón was the heart of cheese in those days and the Del Fraile family built a warehouse and began distribution throughout the region by mule.

Alimentias is a Spanish company that was founded in 1999 and belongs to a long family tradition in the food business.

It all started in 1881, in the town of Villalón, located in the center of Castilla; Villalón was the heart of cheese in those days and the Del Fraile family built a warehouse and began distribution throughout the region by mule.

Garlic and onion were the company´s main products along with paprika de la vera, honey and cheese.

In the 1940’s, Miguel Divassón’s grandfather – Baldomero – moved to Galicia for his military service and decided to open a warehouse and began purchasing crops from all over Spain, adding grapes, strawberries, and apples, among other fruits, to the family business.

To this very day, our company remains faithful to the traditional spirit, coupled with quality; and for this reason, his original company is still present to this day.

We live in a constantly evolving market and customer expectations change rapidly, as do the imperatives of quality and legal framework. The high level of automation and process management allows us to manufacture a wide range of products, while maintaining strict quality and food safety requirements.

 

We focus on adhering to the investigation, development, and innovation of our business, allowing us to create new products tailored to the market. Such upgrades will be beneficial in terms of improved quality of the final product.

Currently, Alimentias, based in Andalusia, is one of the main producers of Manchego cheese and dedicates its main business to the production and export of the most famous Spanish cheeses and specialties.

Our position in the market allows us to establish long-term agreements with farmers, that have been specially selected for the quality of their milk as well as guaranteeing animal welfare. This combination of factors is what permits us to the excellence of our cheese.
